About Dr. Ball

Dr. Katie J. Ball is a Chautauqua County native, having been born and raised on a productive beef/pork farm in Arkwright, New York. Dr. Ball received her Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York College at Fredonia in 2002. She then pursued a degree in veterinary medicine at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, West Indies. She finished her required clinical courses at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2006.
After working as an associate veterinarian for a local large animal ambulatory practice for four years, Dr. Ball founded Arkwright Veterinary Services in 2010 to provide mobile routine and emergency veterinary services to the horses and other farm animals of Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties in New York and in Warren, PA.  From 2006 - 2013, she was also employed on a part-time basis as an associate veterinarian in Fredonia, NY caring for the needs of companion animals.  In 2013, Dr. Ball attained her dream of owning her own mixed animal practice when she opened her small animal primary care clinic in Arkwright, NY.  This small but state-of-the-art facility allows her to provide companion animal services to her large animal clientele.
Dr. Ball is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and the New York Veterinary Medical Association (NYVMA).  She currently resides in the scenic hills of Arkwright as the proud 3rd-generation owner of a pastoral 18-acre farm where she raises all-natural lean Dexter beef and farm fresh brown eggs.  Several of the animal members of her family are elderly or have medical conditions and have been adopted from local shelters or clients.  She shares her farm and home with horses, cattle, goats, chickens, rabbits, cats and dogs. When she has time, Dr. Ball enjoys trail riding on her horses, taking English riding lessons, training her dogs (sheep herding, livestock guardian, couch warming), maintaining her property and spoiling her numerous nephews and niece.
